Truth be told, we don't do gift exchange in our family anymore – unless you happen to be under the age of 18. Instead, we travel or buy one another fun food items – like great chocolate or wine. So this list above is not a not-so-subtle hint for my beloved – I wouldn't dream of asking for these things (beyond vulgar!). Rather, it's a wish list for the things I hope go on sale Boxing Day...so I can buy them myself, if I have any fun money left after 3 weeks in Europe! ;-)

Just ordered this print as I have loved it for ages.
Am a fan of huge Parra's work and hope to collaborate with him one day on the right project.
When I first saw this series of books, I assumed it was almost all retouching that produced the amazing cut-away photograpy – but alas, as this Ted talk shows, the majority of imagery is a result of actually sawing dishware and appliances in half! Pretty cool.
Watch several other videos on the book here.
Read a great article about Nathan Myhrvold, the book's co-author, and the former CTO of Microsoft, here.

How crazy adorable is this girl's style? The jacket is a: Must.Have.For.Fall.

After six years of detailed documentation of everything Hermès, Koto's book is finally available for purchase.
Here's more info:
Koto Bolofo’s dream came true in 2004 when he started working for Monde d’Hermès, the Hermès magazine, and when he met the Chairman: “Mr Dumas asked where I came from. I said South Africa. He asked what part. I said Lesotho. He was shocked and very excited. He explained that his great great great grandfather was a missionary in Lesotho and that the Zulus used to attack his mission, but the Sothos – my tribe – protected him. I was very happy to be a Lesothan in Mr Dumas’s office that day. He called me his cousin and said that his cousin was welcome any time and I had carte blanche to photograph what I liked in Hermès”.
Over the next six years, Koto Bolofo worked his way through all the workshops of the Maison Hermès, getting to know the craftsmen and discovering how everything is made: from handbags, perfumes, scarves, prêt-à-porter, and shoes to the original objects of the house, saddles. Nothing escaped his lens, even the most secret places, such as the museum, a treasure trove of history and all things Hermès tucked away in the midst of the Maison on rue du faubourg St Honoré.
Fall hasn't even come and gone and I'm already obsessing over Resort 2012. Aren't these lizard heels from Rebecca Minkoff amazing?

If you read this blog with any regularity, you already know I am obsessed with ceramics. Design Sponge featured Elephant Ceramics this past week and I am smitten. The simple shapes, transparent washes and textured surfaces are so restrained and perfect.
I want every piece. I love the illustrative quality to all the items – as though they are drawings of dishes made real.

Oh..so pretty. Ballerina flats are everywhere but these are special – lovely proportions.

Spotted one of these great bags at A2Zane recently – he's getting the fluorescent range soon at his store as well. I'm also quite partial to the special edition beige patent version created exclusively for ASOS.
Picked up this beauty at Opening Ceremony today – which incidentatly, I can't say enough good things about. I keep coming back everytime I visit New York because the staff there are lovely and the product mix is very thoughtfully curated and fun.

Saw the cardigan version of this IRO sweater yesterday at Love of Mine Boutique – love the sequin peek-a-boo detailing.
* Update - found it and bought it at The Narwhal boutique in Rosedale. There's still one left if you want it ;-)
When I first saw this bag online a while ago – I liked it. Today, when I saw it in person at Jonathan + Olivia, I loved it. Very nice and very necessary. ;-)
I can't decide what I like about Opera Cake Co. more – the fact that they are such gifted artists or that they live in my own city! Making a plan to visit next weekend...
Remember this Miu Miu collection from SS 2004? It's one of my many favs from the brand.
I recently came across the super cute pink dress pictured above, but, alas, it was not my size. Liked it so much, I almost bought it anyways to hang on the wall. Luckily, I came across a unworn vintage pair of the matching embellished pumps in pink today and all is redeemed. So excited to get them – it will be like wearing mini gilded birthday cakes on my feet. Yes, I am crazy. ;-)
Each time my mother took me to the ROM as a kid, I would spend an extra long time marveling at the ancient Greek jewelry and the facination has never stopped. Currently I have my eye on this lovely modern specimen from 1stDibs.
Some of my favourite pieces at home are from Commute and so I must confess that I'm a little sad that they've moved away from my hood in Queen West – they are now at a bigger space at Bathurst & Dupont. They've also updated their website to showcase some really beautiful custom installation work – have a look.

Erie Basin is an extremely charming and tightly curated store (in Brooklyn NY) and online boutique that sells 18-20th century jewelry and collectable curios. "Ranging from Art Deco engagement rings to 18th century mourning jewelry to American folk art, the collection is varied, but carefully constructed" and very beautifully photographed I might add. Owner Russell Whitmore has a very sharp and refined eye!
Can you tell the cold weather is getting to me? I need warmth soon and am already picturing myself somewhere in these colours & patterns. Buy both here at My Theresa.
Currently sold out online but mayhaps Jonathan & Olivia have it. Will investigate...
** Update! It's back in stock – I just ordered it here.
