Truth be told, we don't do gift exchange in our family anymore – unless you happen to be under the age of 18. Instead, we travel or buy one another fun food items – like great chocolate or wine. So this list above is not a not-so-subtle hint for my beloved – I wouldn't dream of asking for these things (beyond vulgar!). Rather, it's a wish list for the things I hope go on sale Boxing Day...so I can buy them myself, if I have any fun money left after 3 weeks in Europe! ;-)

Everytime I see this work, it makes me sooo happy. Love it.
James Nares does these in one brush stroke while hanging suspended in a harness above the canvas. – Beautiful!
I don't post about nail polish that often because most are good and pretty comparable to each other. Recently though, I was in Urban Outfitters and I was compelled to buy a bottle of their house polish because the colour was so pretty.
Well, not only was it pretty on, it went on perfectly with just one coat. And then... literally every girl I know asked me about it when they saw my hands. So – then I went and bought several bottles to give away and also a few other colours. The above is my haul and so far, HotTub and Tanline are awesome. Get'em.
P.S They are not listed on URBN.com – find them in-store.

If you read this blog with any regularity, you already know I am obsessed with ceramics. Design Sponge featured Elephant Ceramics this past week and I am smitten. The simple shapes, transparent washes and textured surfaces are so restrained and perfect.
Yes, another painter that has taken a cue from Wayne Thiebaud and done a lovely job of it.

Getting older kind of sucks but at least there was pink Veuve, Oyster Boy oysters, many types of Leslieville Cheese, big fat pink peonies, buttercream Dlish cupcakes, Nadège macaroons and my fun dress to cushion the blow. Best of all of course was having the most wonderful friends a girl could hope for around. Great weekend.
This site instantly put a smile on my face. I grew up thinking my father was the Eastern Euopean version of Bill Cosby. And the show overall had a way of making me feel the future would be good.

Erie Basin is an extremely charming and tightly curated store (in Brooklyn NY) and online boutique that sells 18-20th century jewelry and collectable curios. "Ranging from Art Deco engagement rings to 18th century mourning jewelry to American folk art, the collection is varied, but carefully constructed" and very beautifully photographed I might add. Owner Russell Whitmore has a very sharp and refined eye!

I don't know what this means but I love how the purple smoke looks – esp. against that blue tile. Wouldn't it be nice if it smelled like grape?
This is a Christmas garland from TOAST. Wish it was a necklace instead.
This is an awesome mural from the Ace Hotel.
This is Melissa Auf der Maur and Olivier Theyskens during their collaboration. He reminds me of Trent Reznor in this outfit and haircut.
This is a brilliant fucking idea. I'm mad at myself for not thinking of it sooner. Why isn't everything this good?
This charming illustration is by Ben Weeks. I met him recently at the Design Thinkers conference.
This is a detail from a dress I want to buy from Urban Outfiters. It looks very similar to one I fell in love with last Spring from Jonathan Saunders.
The necklace and dress are both Lanvin.
Some lovely packaging design for Merchant & Mills. Have you ever seen a more beautiful pin?
I don't know where this is but I want to go there and never return.
