I'm working on a food shoot next week and spent almost the entire day today looking at sandwiches. This photo reminded me of the kind I ate as a kid in my school lunch and as good as it looks now, I would have traded it for PB&J on Wonder bread any day given the chance back then. You always want what you can't have...so silly

Glad to know I wasn't alone in my quest for all things WASP-y! I coveted my friends' Wagon Wheels and Twinkies too.

Oh My God - I totally relate. My sweet mother would make me salami and cheese sandwiches on homemade rye, and I would let them rot in my locker! I was so ungrateful! I hated being European.... all I wanted was peanut butter and honey on white bread!
