I was introduced to the music of Scott Walker about a year and a half ago and only last night, after watching a documentary about his life, came to learn what a pivotal figure in music he was. He's cited by the likes of Brian Eno, David Bowie, Alison Goldfrappe, Jarvis Cocker, amongst many other notables, as being as influential as the Beatles and the Stones. How is it them that the average person, like yours truly, has never heard of him?
