Great Book Jacket Design

I was just flipping through Penguin By Design and came across this great book jacket illustration done in 1958 by David Gentleman and was instantly smitten. I am constantly amazed by the power of great design to motivate action even when you don't want or need the item in question. In this case the subject matter is actually of interest – and I've ready found a few vintage copies online. ;-)
